Pregnant mother, child stabbed dead in Cebu

A pregnant mother and her five-year-old child were found brutally stabbed to death inside their house in Naga City in Cebu province early Friday. Police are looking at robbery as the motive in the brutal killing of Virgindina Bantilan and child in Naalad village, radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate reported. The report did not immediately identify the child. The family patriarch is an overseas Filipino worker who works as a seaman, the report said. Both victims bore stab wounds in different parts of the body. The report said several valuables were missing in the house, leading police to suspect a robbery as motive for the crime. — LBG, GMA News
