Pinoy artists hold exhibit at Hong Kong library


Filipino artists based in Hong Kong are holding an exhibit of contemporary visual works at the Hong Kong Central Library for the next two weeks, the Philippine Consulate General there said. The Consulate General said the exhibit, "Haraya 3," will be on display from Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. until September 26 at the Exhibition Galleries 2 and 3 of the Hong Kong Central Library at Causeway Bay. In a news release, the Consulate General said the featured artists include Jun Cambel, Jun Canete, Joel Ferraris, Noel de Guzman, Ben Guia, Rene Guillen, Martin Megino, Aldrin Monsod, Dani Packer, Dante Peralta, Emilio 'Boyet' Rivera III, Mario Rivera, Manuel Rubio, Bobit Segismundo, Frances Segismundo, and Ed Tapan. The groups co-organizing the event are the Philippine Arts and Cultural Society (Hong Kong) and the Haraya Visual and Media Arts Society. Roberto Chabet's exhibit In August, an exhibit featuring the works of Philippine conceptual artist Roberto Chabet opened in Hong Kong's Kowloon area. The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said the exhibit "To Be Continued-Hong Kong" is open for viewing everyday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will run until September 21, the Consulate added. Chabet's exhibit is being held at Osage Kwun Tong, 5/F, Kian Dai Industrial Building, 73-75 Hung To Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. "This exhibition brings together for the first time Chabet’s significant plywood series as well as his largest and most recent installation to date, 'Onethingafteranother,'" the Consulate said in a news release on its website. - VVP, GMA News
