2 hurt, traffic snarled in 3-bus collision in Mandaluyong

Two people were reported injured while early morning rush-hour traffic was snarled following a three-bus collision along a portion of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in Mandaluyong City Tuesday. Charlie Nosares of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's Metrobase said the incident occurred at the northbound part of EDSA before Shaw Boulevard. "Yung initial report na natanggap natin, dalawa ang injured [na] naiulat sa atin. Sa harap yan ng approach ng tunnel ng Shaw Boulevard (The initial reports we received showed two were injured in the incident near the approach to the Shaw Boulevard tunnel)," Nosares said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said the incident occurred at 7:10 a.m.

An investigation into what caused the accident is still ongoing, even as Nosares said they are not discounting at least one of the buses was speeding. "Mabilis marahil ang takbo niyan (We are not discounting the possibility the buses may have been speeding)," he said.
