Nearly 400 Pinoys in Saipan get free health screening


Nearly 400 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saipan availed of free health screening conducted by Philippine officials there, with the help of a Filipino volunteer medical team. The free health screening was held at the Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC) at the Marianas Business Plaza from 7:00 a.m. to noon on September 4, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. "This quarterly activity, started several years ago, aims to increase the awareness of Filipinos in Saipan on diabetes prevention and control, hypertension prevention, and eye/vision pressure correction among ," the DFA said in a news release. Out of the 387 OFWs served during the free health screening, 316 OFWs had their blood sugar and blood pressure tested by medical volunteers. Hardt Eye Clinic served 71 eye patients. According to the DFA, the next "Free Health Screening for OFWs" is scheduled on December 4. - VVP, GMA News
