3 of 9 escapees from QC jail nabbed — report


Three of the nine inmates who bolted from a Quezon City police station Wednesday dawn had been arrested hours after the jailbreak, a report on GMA News TV Live said. Quoting police authorities, the report said the three — Pedro Perez, Russell Catinta and Romulos Pagnata — were arrested in Barangay Silangan in San Mateo town in Rizal province. Perez was reportedly the brains behind the jailbreak, which occurred at the Quezon City Police District's Station 5 at the Fairview area. Their escape was discovered around 2 a.m. Wednesday.


Still at large are a certain Noel, Richard Santos, a certain Soriano, Richard David, Ernesto Ramasanta, and Alex Francisco. Their cases ranged from drug-related charges to robbery. Quezon City police head Chief Superintendent George Regis an initial investigation showed that at least one of the inmates received a visitor who smuggled in a blade that the inmates used to cut the screen and bars of the detention cell's restroom. - KBK, GMA News
