Broadcaster's daughter abducted near university in Puerto Princesa

Unidentified men on Thursday abducted the daughter of a radio broadcaster in Palawan province, a police report said. The victim, a 17-year-old student of Palawan State University, was abducted at 10:30 a.m. at a canteen in front of the school in Barangay Tiniguiban in Puerto Princesa City. GMA News Online is withholding the identity of the victim, a minor, as well as her father on account of her age. The motive for the kidnapping was not immediately known. Information from the MIMAROPA Police Public Information Office said the victim was able to send two text messages to her mother, one of them asking for help, the other telling the mother that she has been brought to a room that "looks like a warehouse." A crisis management committee has been activated to work for the victim’s release. Likewise, the police have formed a task force to resolve the kidnapping incident. – KBK, GMA News
