PAGASA: 'Onyok' threat gone, scattered rain looms over PHL

While the threat from a possible re-visit from tropical cyclone “Onyok" (Roke) appears to be gone, scattered rain from a monsoon trough looms over parts of the country on Saturday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the monsoon trough is spread across Luzon and Visayas. “The whole country will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms," PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin. Meanwhile, PAGASA said there may still be strong to gale-force winds associated with Onyok, but the surge of southwesterly surface wind flow has weakened. — LBG, GMA News
