Android app allows Facebook session hijacking

A new tool now allows users running devices with a rooted version of Google’s Android operating system to hijack Facebook sessions. Droidsheep is a one-click hijacking tool that supports hijacking a range of sites that includes social networking site Facebook, The Hacker News reported. In an entry on its website, The Hacker News said the tool supports:

* Amazon.de * Facebook.com * Flickr.com * Twitter.com * Linkdein.com * Yahoo.com * Live.com * Google.de (only the non-encrypted services like “maps")

“You need an android-powered device, running at least version 2.1 of Android. You need Root-Access on your phone," it said. Frequent public WiFi users are encouraged to log onto only password-protected sites, and to only log onto sites using the HTTPS protocol (indicated by the https:// prefix in the browser address bar). — TJD, GMA News
