PNoy to meet with Shamcey before leaving for US Sunday night

President Benigno Aquino III will have a last-minute opportunity to meet with Miss Universe third runner-up Shamcey Supsup before leaving for the United States Sunday night, Malacañang said. Aquino will meet with Supsup at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s VIP lounge at 9:30 p.m. before his departure, presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said on government radio. “This will be a personal opportunity for the president to congratulate her," he said on government-run dzRB radio. Lacierda added the meeting may be the only chance for the two to see each other before Aquino leaves. But Lacierda said it was not immediately clear if media will be allowed to cover the meeting between Aquino and Supsup. Aquino is to leave for a visit to the US Sunday night. He said an in-house crew of the Palace will release photos of the meeting should it be deemed a closed-door event. Lacierda reiterated the Palace is “very proud" of Supsup’s accomplishments. Supsup arrived in the Philippines early Sunday, and thanked Filipinos for their support while she was representing the country in the Miss Universe pageant, where she was third runner-up. — LBG, GMA News
