Shamcey motorcade starts in Cubao

Aside from a transport strike in the area, traffic in the Cubao area in Quezon City was tight Monday afternoon for another reason: a parade-motorcade for Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup. Many vehicles taking part in the motorcade rolled out of the Araneta Center in Quezon City after noon, according to a report by radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad. Supsup, who was in the main vehicle, waved to supporters from the vehicle's open sunroof, the report said. Bystanders waited outside the Araneta Coliseum and Farmers' market areas to get a glimpse of Supsup, who arrived home Sunday and had a meeting with President Benigno Aquino III at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Sunday night. The report said the motorcade was festive, with Ati-Atihan dancers performing aboard a truck at the front of the motorcade.
