Bomb threat hits QC building — police

Police authorities on Tuesday rushed to a building in Quezon City after getting reports of a bomb threat that later turned out to be a hoax. Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman, said in a text message that they received information that an explosive device will go off at the 19th floor of a residential tower along Timog Avenue corner Ybardolaza Street. A team from the PNP's Explosive and Ordnance Division and the Quezon City Police District's Special Weapons and Tactics were deployed to secure and inspect the establishment. "The result of paneling conducted by EOD and district SWAT yielded negative for any bomb explosive device," Cruz said. — Mark Merueñas/RSJ, GMA News
