Family removes life support of teenage shooter in Pampanga

The family of the 13-year-old boy, who allegedly shot himself and his male teenage lover in a shopping mall in Pampanga on Tuesday, have decided to take him out of life support. In an interview on GMA's "Unang Balita" on Wednesday, the father of the alleged shooter said they consented to pull off the plug of the life support of their brain-dead son at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Earlier that day, in an apparent suicide attempt, the 13-year-old boy shot himself after shooting his alleged male 16-year-old lover inside a shopping mall in Mexico, Pampanga. GMA News Online is withholding the identities of the two victims because they are both minors. Both victims are in critical condition. Organs to be donated Meanwhile, a doctor at the hospital where the 13-year-old boy is confined said the victim's parents have agreed to donate their son's cornea and kidney. In an interview over radio dzBB, the doctor said the older victim, who was also still in comatose condition, was transferred to another hospital. The doctor said the prognosis for both boys was not good but that doctors are doing their best for them. Stealing things On "Unang Balita," the father of the alleged shooter accused the 16-year-old victim of taking advantage of their son's kindness and pushing him to steal things from their home. "Pinaasa para sa ganu'n, makagawa ng hindi maganda 'yung anak ko. Laruan ng anak kong PSP, kukunin niya tapos ibibigay lang... Cell phone kukunin niya sa kapitbahay tapos ibibigay lang... Ano 'yun?" said the father, who asked not to be named.

He said they recovered a gold wristwatch from a buy-and-sell store. On "Unang Balita," the father showed a receipt from a courier service provider showing that his son has been sending things to the 16-year-old. On the other hand, the 16-year-old's father, who refused an on-camera interview, denied the allegations thrown by the other boy's father. The older boy's father said he was not aware of any misdemeanor committed by his son. Facebook accounts Meanwhile, investigators are searching for clues from the Facebook accounts of the two teenage boys, who allegedly met on that social networking site. They said they will also look into the footages from the CCTV cameras of SM Pampanga, where the shooting happened on Tuesday. Mexico town police chief Superintendent Wilson Santos identified the incident as a "crime of passion," based on the suicide note they recovered from the 13-year-old shooter, who wrote that he was willing to die with the victim. The younger teenage boy reportedly shot the 16-year-old in the head before pointing the gun on himself. In an interview with GMA News TV Live, Santos said they will verify if the 13-year-old was the gun carrier through a paraffin test. Gun too small to detect The mall management briefly closed down the shopping center after the incident on Tuesday but eventually reopened it after investigators cleared the crime scene. In a statement read on "GMA News TV Live," vice president for marketing of the SM Supermalls Millie Dizon said the mall's security had failed to detect the firearm from the shooter because it was too small. The gun was "smaller than the size of a palm" and could not be detected by their metal detectors, she said. The company is conducting its own investigation into the incident, Dizon said. - with a report from Mark Merueñas and Candice Montenegro, VVP, GMA News
