2 dead, 9 hurt in truck-bus collision in Zamboanga Sibugay

Two people were killed while nine others were hurt in a collision between a rural transit bus and a dump truck in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines. Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Philippine National Police spokesman, said the incident happened at Gusawan at Barangay Moncing in Siay town at about 3 p.m. Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims as of posting time.

Cruz said the two fatalities died on the spot, while the injured victims were undergoing treatment at a hospital in neighboring Kabasalan town, north of Siay. Cruz said the dump truck came from Olutanga town, also in Zamboanga Sibugay. — Mark D. Merueñas/KBK, GMA News
