Automatic edit tool spices up YouTube vids

Here's good news for users uploading "boring" videos to YouTube: an automatic editing tool promises to select the most interesting clips and repackage the video. Magisto, the cloud-based video editing service behind the editing tool, said its product will be integrated into YouTube via the YouTube Create feature. "Now, whether you know how to edit video or not, you can upload your footage to Magisto on YouTube and our system will find all the best parts, edit them together with the song of your choice, and post the video to your YouTube channel, where you can share it with your friends, family and the world!" it said in a blog post. It added its service allows YouTube to make video creation as simple and accessible as possible for users. Magisto's partnership with YouTube came barely a day after it made its public beta. Users can go to YouTube.com/create to upload unedited videos "and have them turned into short, fun movies to share on your YouTube channel, automatically." A separate article on tech site CNET said users can merely click on the Magisto icon in YouTube's video toolbox to get started. CNET said Magisto, based in Tel-Aviv (Israel), also announced it has secured $5.5 million in a series B funding round led by Horizons Ventures, the private venture firm of Li Ka-shing, the world's 11th richest man. "Magisto's tool instantly 'finds' the best scenes in your video and cuts out the blurry, bad and boring bits. Music and effects (wipes, transitions, titles, and fades) can also be added with two button clicks. The tool is dead simple to use as it literally walks you through the editing 'process' in seconds," it said. — TJD, GMA News
