Google Voice 'auto-reloads' from your credit card

In the Philippines, it would have likely been “auto-reload," although Google calls it “auto-recharge." Google has rolled out a new feature allowing its “Google Voice" telecommunications service to automatically deduct call credits from a user’s credit card. Senior software engineer Ilya Frank said the new feature should benefit those who use Google Voice for international calls, who can get caught off guard if their credit runs out. “(B)ased on your feedback, we implemented the ability to auto-recharge your account: just go to your billing page (click on the add credit link next to your balance) and select the recharge amount. When your calling credit dips under $2 or 2€ we will automatically charge your credit card on file for the selected amount," Frank said in a blog post. Frank said the feature becomes available after a user’s first purchase and can be changed or disabled at any time. Google Voice is presently available only in the United States. However, it has indicated it is “planning to expand our service to additional countries in the future." — TJD, GMA News
