PUP suspends night classes


The Polytechnic University of the Philippines suspended its night classes Monday amid the threat of bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon Pedring (Nesat). PUP president Dante Guevarra cited the possibility of floods and heavy rain, according to a report by radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu. The report quoted Guevarra as saying the suspension applies to the PUP's campuses in Metro Manila and in the provinces. It also includes the PUP's College of Law and graduate school, the report said. Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of possible heavy rain in Metro Manila Monday night. PAGASA said it expects Pedring to make landfall on the Isabela-Aurora area Tuesday. — RSJ, GMA News
