NDRRMC: One dead, four missing as 'Pedring' batters Luzon
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said a one-year-old boy was killed while at least four other people were reported missing as typhoon "Pedring" (international name: Nesat) battered Luzon. In its 6:00 a.m. update on Tuesday, the NDRRMC said Chawn Andrie Daliora, one year and 10 months old, died after falling off the creek leading to Bato River in Bato town, Catanduanes. His body was recovered at around 10:00 p.m. on Monday. Arthur Silvania, on the other hand, injured his right knee when a tornado hit Maconacon town in Isabela province. Some 45 people were rescued, including six persons from Pasacao, Camarines Sur; 12 from Quezon; and 27 from Mercedes town in Camarines Norte. The NDRRMC said "Pedring" also affected 1,355 families (or 6,112 people) in five provinces.
