DepEd postpones NCAE in 7 Pedring-hit regions

The Department of Education is postponing to Friday the National Career Assessment Examination for seven regions affected by Typhoon Pedring (Nesat). DepEd communications office head Tina Ganzon said the postponement applies to:

  • National Capital Region
  • Region 1 (Ilocos)
  • Region 2 (Cagayan Valley)
  • Region 3 (Central Luzon)
  • Region 4 (Southern Luzon)
  • Region 5 (Bicol)
  • Cordillera "Gusto namin i-announce na ang NCAE na dapat iganap bukas Sept. 28, ito ay mapo-postpone sa regions apektado ng 'Pedring' (We want to announce the NCAE for the regions affected by 'Pedring' will be postponed)," Ganzon said in an interview on dzBB radio. She said the exams will be postponed to Friday, September 30. The DepEd, on its Twitter account, added this extra time will allow for the preparation of test centers. "Kung sa rehyong apektado ng bagyo di pa ayos sa Friday, discretion ng regional offices kung kailangan i-postpone (But if the affected areas are still unable to hold the NCAE on Friday, it is up to the regional offices to postpone them anew)," she said. But Ganzon stressed that high school students in all other regions will take the NCAE on Wednesday as scheduled. The NCAE aims to help high school students and teachers see which career they are likely to succeed in. — RSJ, GMA News
