DepEd: Classes suspended in Laguna, some NCR schools


Amid improving weather conditions as Typhoon Pedring (Nesat) exits Philippine territory, classes in some areas in Laguna and Metro Manila remained suspended Wednesday. The Department of Education said Laguna Governor Emilio Ramon "E.R." Ejercito III ordered the suspension of classes up to high school. "Classes will remain suspended in the entire Laguna province today, Sept 28, for kinder, elementary and high school as declared by Gov. ER Ejercito," it said on its Twitter account. Also, the DepEd said classes in some Metro Manila schools will remain suspended, including:

  • Bagong Silangan Elementary School in Quezon City
  • Sucat and Cupang Elementary School in Muntinlupa City
  • P. Guevarra Elementary School in Manila On the other hand, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said classes for Wednesday will remain suspended in some schools in the city, radio dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa reported. These include:
  • Gen. Vicente Elementary School
  • Mayor Antonio Villegas Vocational School
  • Manila High School
  • President Corazon Aquino Elementary School (Baseco)
  • Aurora Elementary School, but only for morning classes in Grades III and IV; classes in Grades III and IV to resume in the afternoon. — RSJ, GMA News
