MMDA: Korean shot in San Juan City, road temporarily closed


The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said eastbound Ortigas Avenue in San Juan City is temporarily closed to traffic because a Korean national was shot there in an early morning attack on Thursday. In a message on its Twitter account, the MMDA said the ambush took place at the corner of Connecticut Street and Ortigas Avenue. The MMDA did not identify the Korean national and did not indicate what his condition was. However, the MMDA said the police's Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) personnel rushed to the scene. A report of radio dzBB’s Glen Juego said the victim’s driver was wounded while the vehicle’s windshield was shattered. The report said the incident occurred across a bank branch at Greenhills village in San Juan City. The report said some people in the area were startled to hear several gunshots but were not able to describe the suspects. - VVP, GMA News
