US Embassy-Manila consular section resumes operations

Two days after suffering damage from Typhoon Pedring (Nesat), the United States Embassy in Manila resumed normal operations on Thursday. In an announcement on its Facebook account it said: "Visa or citizen service appointments are welcome at the Consular Section building at the time their appointments are scheduled," it said. But it reiterated visa applicants whose appointments were affected by the closings of the last two days should contact the call center to make a new appointment. The embassy had to close Tuesday and Wednesday after storm surges from cause by Typhoon Pedring damaged several areas near the seawall along Roxas Boulevard. "We deeply regret inconvenience caused by the closings of the last two days, which were due to the storm conditions generated by Typhoon Pedring. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the natural disaster," it said. — LBG, GMA News
