PHL shares end slightly higher on lack of encouraging news

Share prices on the Philippine Stock Exchange closed slightly higher Thursday as market players find little encouragement to trade. The Philippine Stock Exchange index advanced 1.51 points to close at 3,877.63. More than 7.979 billion shares valued at P5.178 billion were traded. Advancers led decliners 75 to 61, with 38 stocks unchanged. “Medyo flat," because the market is looking for direction from foreign markets," said a trader from Citisecurities Inc. “Foreign markets don’t seem good these days," the trader added, noting that many players are on the sidelines waiting for the chance to get out. — VS, GMA News
