DepEd: No classes in Pampanga on Friday


Citing the floods brought by typhoon "Pedring" (Nesat), the Department of Education said Thursday night classes will remain suspended in Pampanga province on Friday. In its Twitter account, the DepEd also said the National Career Assessment Examination will push through Friday in areas affected by "Pedring." "(Pampanga) will suspend classes tomorrow, Sept. 30. Classes will resume in Nueva Ecija, Gapan, Cabanatuan and Bulacan," the DepEd said. Several towns near the Pampanga River had been flooded due to heavy rain from "Pedring." A report on Sun.Star said these include the towns of Macabebe, San Simon, Masantol, San Luis, Candaba and Minalin. Meanwhile, the DepEd said the NCAE will push through on Friday in seven regions affected by "Pedring." The NCAE was originally scheduled last Wednesday. DepEd communications office head Tina Ganzon earlier said the NCAE postponement applied to: - National Capital Region - Region 1 (Ilocos) - Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) - Region 3 (Central Luzon) - Region 4 (Southern Luzon) - Region 5 (Bicol) - Cordillera "NCAE will be conducted tomorrow, Sept 30 in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4a, 4b, 5, CAR and NCR," the DepEd said in its Twitter account. — ELR, GMA News
