15 Maguindanao poll execs to testify on 2007 election fraud


The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday presented 15 municipal election supervisors from Maguindanao who will testify on how they manipulated results of the 2007 elections to deliver a full "12-0" sweep in favor of the senatorial candidates of the Arroyo administration. In 2007, all 12 senatorial candidates of Team Unity of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's administration won in Maguindanao. At a press briefing, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and Elections chair Sixto Brillantes Jr. presented the following election officers:

  • Saliao Amba (Mamasapano town),
  • Maria Susan Albano (Datu Unsay town),
  • Nena Alid (Talayan),
  • Alice Lim (Pagagawan),
  • Susan Cabanban (General S.K. Pendatun),
  • Magsaysay Mohamad (Sultan sa Barongis),
  • Araw Cao (Mangudadatu),
  • Estellita Orbaso (Shariff Aguak),
  • Jeehan Nur (Ampatuan),
  • Salonga Edzela (Maguindanao),
  • Ragah Ayunan (Rajah Buayan),
  • Russam Mabang (Pandag),
  • Asuncion Reniedo (Paglat),
  • Rohaida Khalid (Datu Saudi), and
  • Norijean Hangkal (Guindulungan). Brillantes said that the 15 municipal poll officers, two of whom have already retired, will testify how the election fraud at the municipal level was carried out. The press briefing was ongoing as of posting time. — RSJ, GMA News
