Preorders for Steve Jobs book soar 53,555 percent


While some Apple fans paid tribute to the late Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs with tweets and others with online odes, many chose to remember him by pre-ordering books about him. As of 8pm Manila time, four books on Jobs registered a huge increase in pre-orders on online bookstore Amazon.com, one of them registering a whopping 53,555-percent increase in just the last 24 hours. The present best-seller on Amazon's list is the upcoming autobiography "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson, due out on November 21. Pre-orders for the book, which had ranked only 388th in the last 24 hours, went up 38,700 percent to propel it to the top spot. But in terms of pre-order increases, the biggest gainer was "I, Steve: Steve Jobs in His Own Words" by George Beahm, which is due out November 8. From 130,919th place in the last 24 hours, orders for it skyrocketed by 53,555 percent to propel it to 244th place. A third book on Jobs, "The Innovation Secrets of Steve Jobs: Insanely Different Princples for Breakthrough Success" by Carmine Gallo, registered a 4,308-percent hike to end up 276th from 12,168th 24 hours earlier. The fourth book, "The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience" also by Carmine Gallo, registered a 1,342-percent increase to be in 161st place from 2,322nd 24 hours earlier. — TJD, GMA News
