PNoy, ‘di raw nanigarilyo sa loob ng eroplano, ayon sa Palasyo

MANILA – Mariing pinabulaanan ng Malacañang nitong Huwebes ang ulat sa isang pahayagan na nanigarilyo si Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, sa loob ng eroplano habang bumibiyahe pabalik ng Pilipinas mula sa Amerika noong Setyembre. “The long and short of my answer is it is not true," deklara ni presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda sa isinagawang press briefing sa Palasyo. “Secretary [Ricky] Carandang, Secretary [Herminio] Coloma, other Cabinet secretaries were there and it’s totally wrong yung sinasabi dun sa article na marami silang nagsisigarilyo. It’s totally wrong, it’s not true," dagdag pa ng opisyal. Lumipad patungong US si Aquino noong September 18 at bumalik sa Pilipinas noong September 23. Sa kanyang kolum na lumabas sa Manila Standard nitong Oktubre 5, sinabi ni Jojo Robles na pinayagang magsigarilyo si Aquino sa loob ng Philippines Airlines PR 104 na may 14-oras na biyahe mula San Francisco hanggang Manila. “Aquino was allowed to smoke in violation of international and local aviation regulations. The feat was pulled off on the PAL 747-400 jumbo jet by simply preventing anyone to go up the upper, first class deck of the plane [where Aquino was] through the stairs while the President smoked," ayon sa kolumnista. Dagdag pa sa ulat ni Robles, hinihinala ng iba pang sakay sa eroplano na hindi lang ang pangulo ang nanigarilyo sa biyahe. “They surmised that the people with Aquino lit up, as well, just to ensure that their boss would not be breaking civil aviation regulations all by himself," nakasaad sa kolum. Dati nang inihayag ni Aquino na hindi niya basta maiwan ang naturang bisyo na nakatutulong sa kanya para mabawasan ang stress. – GMA News
