Fisherman in Bataan found dead, 7 others rescued


BALANGA City, Bataan- From among the 17 fishermen earlier reported missing at the height of typhoons "Pedring" and "Quiel," the police recovered the body of one fisherman and rescued seven others. Senior Supt. Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said on Friday four crewmembers of fishing boat "FB Princess Angela" and six others from "FB Queen Lorena 2," are still missing. "FB Queen Lorena 2" left Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan on September 17 while "Princess Angela" left on September 20 to fish at Lubang Island in Occidental, Mindoro. The two fishing boats have not yet been recovered. The police of Iba, Zambales informed Bataan police about the recovery of the body on Wednesday of Alfredo Arnada, boat captain of "FB Princess Angela." Iba policemen also rescued three crewmembers of the same boat – Alexander Pagoy, Raffy Tayong and Loloy Ballescas. The rescued fishermen have already gone home to Bataan. Meanwhile, also on Wednesday, four crewmembers of "FB Queen Lorena 2" were rescued by fishermen six miles off the coast of San Antonio, Zambales. They were identified as Ruben Sumayo, Tunrey Gupong, Erni Aberguzado and Leo Herotivo. They are still at the San Marcelino Hospital in Zambales. - VVP, GMA News
