PAL: International flights back to normal

After weeks of scrambling, flag carrier Philippine Airlines said over the weekend its international flights are back to normal. PAL, in posts on its Twitter account, said it is still working to bring its domestic flight operations back to normal. "International flights are back to normalcy," it said in its Twitter account. On the other hand, PAL said it is still managing its domestic flight schedules. PAL also tweeted a "midnight specials" offer to mark the resumption of normal international flight operations. "We bring you #MidnightSpecial as PAL resumes normal regional/international flight operations," it added. However, the link provided by the Twitter entry led to an error message as of 8 a.m. Sunday. PAL had been forced to re-work many of its flight schedules since Sept. 27, when members of its ground crew union held a sit-down strike. The PAL Employees' Association had questioned the flag carrier's decision to spin off three of its non-core businesses, a move which union members claim has affected some 2,600 workers. The spinoff took effect last October 1. — LBG, GMA News
