NDRRMC: 7 fishermen from Misamis Oriental missing
Search teams are trying to locate seven fishermen from Misamis Oriental who were reported missing amid bad weather conditions due to tropical cyclone "Ramon" (international name: Banyan). National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) head Benito Ramos said Coast Guard and Navy teams have fanned out to as far as Bohol. "Pinaghahanap ng Coast Guard at local na pamalakaya at PNP Maritime Group at Army ... hinahanap ang pito. Sana nagtago sila sa maliit na isla," he said in a press briefing, portions of which were aired on dzBB radio. Many areas in Visayas and Mindanao have been affected by bad weather conditions brought by "Ramon," which made landfall in Leyte on Wednesday morning. Ramos said the government already issued warnings to fishermen in the area not to head out to sea. Earlier, the NDRRMC said "Ramon" brought rain that caused floods and landslides in parts of Visayas and Mindanao. State weather forecasters expect "Ramon" to cross parts of Visayas and Southern Luzon and exit the Philippine area of responsibility later this week. - VVP, GMA News
