PAGASA monitoring potential cyclone outside PHL

Even before tropical depression "Ramon" (Banyan) could exit Philippine territory, state weather forecasters are tracking another potential cyclone that may enter the country. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Gener Quitlong said Thursday the potential cyclone is outside the Philippine area of responsibility at this time. "Inside the Philippine area of responsibility, we do not see any potential cyclone. But our numerical models indicate a possible low-pressure area may form outside Philippine territory," Quitlong said in an interview on dzBB radio, when asked if they expect another cyclone to enter the Philippines shortly after Ramon. He did not say when the LPA would enter Philippine territory. Earlier, he said "Ramon" is expected to exit Philippine territory on Friday night. Once "Ramon" exits Philippine territory, he said the country can expect the weather to improve. "Bukas ng gabi paglabas ng PAR, asahan natin magiging maganda ang ating panahon (When 'Ramon' exits Philippine territory Friday night, we can expect the weather to start improving)," he said. Should the potential LPA develop into a cyclone inside Philippine territory, it will be codenamed "Sendong." PAGASA's names for cyclones for the rest of 2011 include:

    - Tisoy - Ursula - Viring - Weng - Yoyoy - Zigzag
