Police: 15-year-old student in Agusan Norte commits suicide

BUTUAN CITY — A 15 year old third-year high school student in Carmen, Agusan del Norte, hanged himself inside his room Monday afternoon using a nylon rope, a belated police report said Thursday. Caraga Police Regional Information Office identified the victim as Richard Gumela Naduma, 15, a third-year high school student and resident of Purok Duranta, Sitio Mantata, Barangay Tagcatong, Carmen, which is 29 km from Butuan City. According to the report, Richard's sister, who discovered the incident, said she found her brother sprawled unconscious on the floor with a rope tied around his neck. She said, Richard was rushed to the Nasipit District Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. Carmen police ruled out foul play, saying the victim really committed suicide. But it was not immediately known whether the victim left a suicide note. — Ben Serrano/LBG, GMA News
