Malaysian Prince to speak in Makati on malaria, dengue Oct. 15

Malaysia’s Prince, His Royal Highness Tunku Naquiyuddin Inbi Tuanku Ja’afar ,will speak at a forum in Makati City on October 15 on malaria and dengue control. Tunku, son of the 10th king of Malaysia, His Royal Highness Tuanku Ja’afar, will speak at the Ateneo Business Club’s (ABC) forum on October 15 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Ateneo Professional Schools Auditorium, Rockwell Drive, Makati City. During the “AGSB Forum on Malaria and Dengue Control through Sustainable Social Business," a light blue ribbon sign will be launched as a symbol of the fight against dengue. During the forum, Tunku is expected to share his insights on how to control two of the world’s scourges- malaria and dengue - through his innovative R.E.A.P (Reduction, Education, Awareness, Bite Protection) model. A former diplomat, Tunku currently holds investments in diverse businesses covering biotechnology, healthcare, mining, manufacturing, and power. A keen environmentalist, Tunku founded in 1995 the Yayasan Tunku Naquiyaddin (YTN), a pro-active foundation envisioned to address special interest areas, which include well-being, sports and environment. The all-time high 46,171 recoded cases of dengue with deaths in Malaysia last year, prompted the Yayasan Tunku Naquiyuddin (YTN) Foundation to launch its wellbeing program “Stop Dengue Mission." The program informs school children and the general public about dengue prevention through an online educational platform. YTN is bringing to the Philippines its anti-dengue mosquito initiatives through the "CounterStrike Lamok" dengue advocacy geared towards grassroots education about eliminating dengue-causing mosquitoes right at their source. Counterstrike Lamok Dengue advocacy is a collective effort of YTN, ENTOGENEX and its Philippine partner Renew Philippines. - VVP, GMA News
