PUP community condemns killing of exec, calls for justice

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines on Thursday condemned the murder of one of its officials in an ambush in Manila Wednesday night. Members of the PUP community also called on authorities to make sure justice is served for slain vice president for administration Augustus Cezar. PUP president Dante Guevarra also said the entire PUP community is in mourning for the incident, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported. Guevarra also called on investigators to make sure no stone is left unturned in the probe. Motorcycle-riding men ambushed and fatally shot Cezar in Manila's Sta. Mesa district Wednesday night. Earlier, MPD head Chief Superintendent Roberto Rongavilla said at least four witnesses are now being investigated to shed more light on the killing of Cezar. Rongavilla added the police are not singling out the possibility the incident was related to his work at PUP. However, he also said they are looking into Cezar's personal life to see if he had any enemies who would want him dead. — LBG, GMA News
