Police: Robbers hold bank employees hostage in Cavite

(Updated 2:30 p.n.) Armed robbers are holding hostage employees of a bank in Bacoor, Cavite, a police official said Thursday noon. Chief Supt. Gil Meneses, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police regional director, said a crisis management committee has been convened by the local government to coordinate the police response. In a later report from the Cavite police, the hostage-takers have released one of the hostages. The hostage-taking is ongoing as of posting time.
