Police: Hostage crisis in Bacoor, Cavite over

Hostage-takers at a Masuerte Rural Bank branch along Zapote Road in Bacoor, Cavite, surrendered to authorities hours after holding six employees hostage, a television report said. A report on News TV Live said the four hostage-takers peacefully surrendered to authorities after negotiations. All the released hostages were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, the report added. Earlier, Chief Supt. Gil Meneses, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police regional director, said a crisis management committee was convened by the local government to coordinate the police response. — LBG, GMA News
