UK-based business intel solutions provider opens Makati outpost

London-based business intelligence solutions firm, ITRS Group PLC, opened Thursday its new “ancillary development and support center" in Makati, where a team of up to 12 staff will enable it to operate 24 hours from the Philippines’ time zone. “We chose the Philippines primarily for the access it provides to skilled and experienced people. This facility will focus on providing increased client support, testing and development, working closely with the team in London," said Kevin Covington, CEO of ITRS. ITRS chairman Stephen Bates said they chose to set up shop in the Philippines rather than in Thailand, India, Indonesia, China, or Eastern Europe partly because of the qualities of the Filipino workforce. With the Makati center, chief operating officer Keith Waterton said the firm will be able to “undertake more testing cycles in a 24-hour period." Phil Sales, senior development manager, will head up the Makati post. “The opening of the new development centre is of great significance to our R&D program and I look forward to working with my team to deliver excellent products," Sales said. Direction from the core team in London will come through Quintin Gomez, chief technology officer. ITRS’ centerpiece solution is the Geneos business management system, which brings together and translates operations complexities into a dashboard that gives a “complete end-to-end view of all systems." ITRS also empowers its clients to do “predictive analytics" or lay out possible alternatives, outcomes and situations based on volumes of data about past and current behavior. Geneos is in over 600 installations, including 60 leading financial institutions. — ELR, GMA News
