PHL team off to Korea for Ragnarok finals

Team Philippines will be shooting for history as they head to South Korea to represent the country in the Ragnarok World Championship 2011 on October 15. Team Naked Nanaman , composed of Bernabe Orbeso, Marion Louise Carlos, Ron Aldwin Silvestre, Cris Elmar Barroquiña, Von Ryan Castillo, Lorenzo Canlas, Mark Edizon Clemente, won the right to carry the national colors after emerging as the RWC Philippine champion last July. The Philippines hasn’t captured the RWC crown since joining the tilt for a number of years now. The RWC is one of the longest-running annual gaming events in the world, where the best Ragnarok Online players from across the globe battle it out for big prizes and prestige. This year, a total of 11 teams (Japan, Taiwan, China, US, Thailand, Brazil, Indonesia, France, Singapore/Malaysia, Philippines and Korea) will be vying for the RWC 2011 title and crash prizes totaling $26,500. “Team my|phone Philippines is excited and ready for the RWC," said brand group head and Philippine Ragnarok Online senior brand manager Roy Inciong. “We’ve shown time and again that the Philippines is a force to be reckoned with at the RWC, and Team Naked Nanaman has proven they’ve got the skills and the drive to reach the top, so we’re confident with our chances of winning a world championship this year." — Newsbytes.ph
