PAGASA predicts rain showers in Northern, Central Luzon

Although tropical cyclone "Ramon" (Banyan) has left the country, Northern and Central Luzon may still experience rain showers and thunderstorms, state weather forecasters said Saturday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a wind convergence affecting the two areas is the prevailing weather system for now. "Almost the entire country, except for Northern Luzon, can expect good weather," PAGASA forecaster Gener Quitlong said in an interview on dzBB radio. The weather in most parts of the country may even be warm except for some isolated rain showers, he added. Quitlong also said there is no sign of any approaching or potential cyclone at this time. In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Northern and Central Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. "The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," it said. — LBG, GMA News
