Hardware-accelerated Opera 12 test version out

Norwegian browser Opera promises to become speedier with an early release of its version 12 - its first to use hardware acceleration. But Opera said its version 12 is still in Alpha, even as it asked the public to help it test the browser's use of hardware acceleration. "Opera just got even faster by hitching a ride with your graphics card for more processing power. This is what's known as hardware acceleration. This will this improve your everyday browsing, with OpenGL you can also enjoy the web in 3D like never before," it said in a blog post . The Norwegian firm also reintroduced customized themes for the latest version of the browser, saying users can use prepared themes or make their own. It said other upgrades include improvements to the address field and an update to the new HTML5 engine. However, it reminded early adopters to expect bugs as this is still an Alpha build. It encouraged them to report bugs or problems to Opera's forums. "Remember that this is a Alpha build. Some bugs are expected, but we need your help to test it. Simply download it trough Opera Next. If you find any issues please use our forums or the Bug Report Wizard to help us out!" it said. — TJD, GMA News
