NDRRMC: Romblon bridge still impassable due to 'Ramon'

A bridge in San Agustin town in Romblon province remained impassable Sunday in the wake of tropical cyclone "Ramon" (Banyan), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said. In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC said maintenance crews are undertaking "emergency remedial measures" on the Bachawan Bridge, K0066+787 in Bachawan village. The NDRRMC also said at least 15,594 families or 62,751 people had been affected in 158 villages in 26 towns and eight cities in 11 provinces due to Ramon. Of these, 634 families or 3,170 people are still housed in 11 evacuation centers. However, the NDRRMC said the death toll from Ramon remained at 10, including five from Iloilo in Western Visayas, two from Cebu in Central Visayas, one from Butuan in Mindanao, and two from island province of Romblon. At least six were injured, while one was missing. The NDRRMC said 29 houses were destroyed while 28 were damaged. — LBG, GMA News
