Suspect in rape of ex-SK member in Manila arrested

The police have arrested one of at least two suspects in the alleged rape of a former Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) member in Manila on Sunday. Radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported on Monday that the suspect, a certain "Jayvee," faces charges for the alleged rape on Saturday of a 20-year-old victim. The police are now tracking down the suspect's companion, a certain "Ramon." The initial investigation showed the incident occurred after the victim reportedly took part in a drinking spree in San Andres, Manila. After getting drunk, a female friend invited the victim to stay at her house for the night. However, when the victim woke up, she reportedly found herself naked and the suspects were molesting her. She said "Ramon" threatened to kill her if she fought back. A separate report on dwIZ radio said "Jayvee" refused to comment on the accusations against him and referred all questions to his lawyer. - VVP, GMA News
