Two children who had been abducted were "abandoned" at a subdivision in Cainta town in Rizal province Monday, police said. Cainta police head Superintendent Noel Ponollera said the two were "turned over" to a local residents by a tall man, whose identity was not immediately available. "Yung nature ng pagkawala ng bata, kidnapping pa rin ang category noon (The nature of the case is kidnapping)," Ponollera said in an interview on dzBB radio, but did not give additional details. He said the children - a four-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl - are now with the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Ponollera said he will ask the DSWD and the children's parents for permission to ask them for details of the abduction. Citing initial reports reaching him, he said a "tall" male accompanied the two children to a subdivision in Cainta and turned them over to a resident. "Hinihintay ko ang authorization ng DSWD at magulang. Pinapapahinga lang ang bata (I am waiting for the authorization of the DSWD and the parents. The children need to rest for now)," he said. — RSJ, GMA News
