Google Voice pulled out of app store after iOS 5 crash

A Google app for Apple mobile devices has been pulled out of the App Store after it crashed in iOS 5, a tech site reported. Engadget quoted senior product manager Vincent Paquet as saying that Google Voice had been pulled due to a bug that caused the app to crash. "Our last update of this week had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in. We removed it so it did not affect additional users until the fix gets published," it quoted Paquet as saying. Engadget cited "recent reviews" where the app crashed in iOS 5 in some devices. However, it said that in its case, the app appeared to work "without issue" on an iPhone 4 running iOS 5. The tech site asaid there was no estimated time on when the app would return. Google Voice is a telecommunications service launched by Google in 2009. The app allows a user to access a Google Voice account right from an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Until it was pulled, it was a free 3.4-mb download that runs on iOS 3.0 or later. — RSJ, GMA News
