German fans put together Jobs tribute with 4001 post-its

Not to be outdone by makeshift tributes elsewhere around the world to the late Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs, the Apple faithful in Germany have put together a unique tribute of their own. Apple fans in Munich, Germany put together a mural of the enigmatic Jobs using 4,001 Post-It notes — and called it an iCollage. "Created with a Mac, filmed with an iPhone4 and edited with iMovie on a MacBookAir," read a description of the project on Facebook. It added the project was made from 4,001 post-its, 400 meters of tape, six hours of work, and 100 percent motivation. A video of how the project was completed was posted on video-sharing site YouTube — in Apple's MOV format. Jobs, who was credited for popular Apple devices from the Apple II to the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone and iPad, died earlier this month after a battle with cancer. His death last October 5 (October 6 in Manila) triggered an outpouring of grief especially from Apple fans, who used their creativity to pay tribute to him. "The portrait now adorns the front-facing glass walls of an Apple Store in Munich, Germany and has been created out of 4,001 of those small sticky notes. It’s touching, it’s beautiful and it’s a very skilled demonstration of a sort of real-world counterpart to pixel art," read an article on tech site The Next Web. — RSJ, GMA News
