Android Ice Cream Sandwich with inbuilt photo editor?

Ice Cream Sandwich —the latest version of Google’s Android operating system for mobile devices expected to be unveiled this week— may come with a built-in photo editor, an Android enthusiast site reported. AndroidPolice claimed to have gained access to several icons for the photo editor in the Android Gallery, and posted the icons on its site. “Google is working on building a photo editor into the Android Gallery. That much we’re certain about - we’ve got the icons for it. It’s not 100 percent confirmed that this will actually ship, or if these features or icons are final, but do you really think they’d do all this work and throw it out?" it said. The AndroidPolice.com report said the icons for Tools referred to:

Redo Undo Colors Exposure Fix Artistic Crop Rotate Flip Straighten Sharpen Redeye
Icons for Effects include:
Autofix Cross Process Documentary Doodle Duotone Fill Light Fisheye Grain Grayscale Highlight Lomo-ish Negative Posterize Saturation Sepia Shadow Temperature Tint Vignette
AndroidPolice said the “Colors" button also has art for an adjustable slider control. There is also a slider called “Generic," which could be for anything, it added. It speculated the small icons may probably be on-screen the whole time. This is all built into the Gallery APK and may not run on older versions of Android, it added. A separate article on tech site CNET noted Android users must presently rely on applications such as Picplz, Photoshop, or Color Touch Effects to enhance photos. Many of Android’s apps then allow the user to share the images across social networking sites, e-mail, and other avenues once finished editing. “It’s unclear how smart or effective the rumored built-in tool will be, but I suspect existing Android customers will stick to their favorite apps. New buyers, on the other hand, may be content with integrated features, especially if they are easy to work with," it said. — TJD, GMA News
