4 quakes rock Mindoro Occidental — Phivolcs


At least four quakes rocked Mindoro Occidental in Southern Luzon Wednesday night, but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the first quake was recorded at 7:29 p.m. and measured magnitude 3.8. It said the epicenter was 19 km southwest of Lubang. A second quake measuring magnitude 2.4 was recorded at 7:43 p.m., with the epicenter at 14 km southwest of Lubang. The third quake measuring magnitude 2.5 was recorded at 7:47 p.m., with the epicenter at 8 km northwest of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro. A fourth quake measuring magnitude 3.1 was recorded at 10:23 p.m., with the epicenter at 32 km southwest of Lubang. No damage or aftershock was expected from the four quakes, Phivolcs said. — LBG, GMA News
