Apple posts over 1M tributes to Jobs

Apple Inc. has created a new page on its website to share the more than one million tributes to its late co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs from people around the world. Visitors can access the tribute page at www.apple.com/stevejobs/, by clicking on the image of Jobs on Apple.com's homepage. "Over a million people from all over the world have shared their memories, thoughts, and feelings about Steve. One thing they all have in common — from personal friends to colleagues to owners of Apple products — is how they’ve been touched by his passion and creativity. You can view some of these messages below," said a message on the tribute page. The messages posted on the page scrolled down in a manner similar to feeds on micro-blogging site Twitter. It also continued to encourage the public to share their own stories and memories at rememberingsteve@apple.com. Jobs died last October 5 after a battle with cancer. Millions mourned his death and set up makeshift tributes to him. The tributes ranged from a music video made entirely from Mac sounds, to a mural of Jobs made out of 4,001 Post-It notes. California Governor Jerry Brown declared Sunday, October 16, "Steve Jobs Day" in the state. "Steve touched all of our lives in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and remeberances," the Apple website said. — TJD, GMA News
