PAGASA: Rainy weekend possible in Metro Manila

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms loom over Northern and Central Luzon on Friday, even as possible rain may fall on Metro Manila this weekend, state weather forecasters said. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this is due to a wind convergence affecting Northern and Central Luzon. "A wind convergence continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon. Because of that those two areas will continue to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms," PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. The rain in Metro Manila and other areas will likely fall mostly in the afternoon or evening, he added. On the other hand, the extended forecast issued at 5 a.m. Friday indicated mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms for Metro Manila on Saturday and Sunday. However, the weather may revert to being partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday. — LBG, GMA News
