Suspected robber killed in shootout with Manila cops

One of two suspected robbers was shot dead following an encounter with the police along Singalong, Manila on Monday morning. The unidentified suspect allegedly tried to shoot at police personnel who were pursuing him, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported. The report said the slain suspect, who was described as wearing blue pants and a white shirt, sustained a gunshot wound in the upper part of the body. The initial investigation showed that the slain suspect and a companion robbed a woman in the area. The police pursued the alleged robbers until one of the suspects was shot and killed at the westbound part of Quirino Highway at the Singalong district. - VVP, GMA News
