Mother, child found stabbed dead in UP campus

A 41-year-old woman and her seven-year-old child were found stabbed to death inside their house at the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City on Monday afternoon. Neighbors who called the police after noticing a foul smell from the victims’ house surmised that the killing occurred last weekend, according to GMA News’ “24 Oras." The bodies of the victims, identified as Edna Arciga and her child Jaddy, were found inside a house along C.P. Garcia Street inside the UP campus area.
Initial investigation showed the bodies were discovered at 2 p.m. Monday, although neighbors said the victims may have been killed last Friday. Police are looking for a certain Jugs, allegedly Arciga’s “live-in partner," to shed light on the incident. The report said Jugs was last seen Monday morning, opening the victim's sari-sari store. — MRT/VS, GMA News
